    Job Description

    Your role will be:

    • Design, implementation, and/or administration of compensation plans, programs, and projects within defined business groups.
    • Leverage business acumen and compensation expertise to develop strategies in partnership with HR and business leaders to attract and retain key talent
    • Utilize data analytics to identify competitive risks and opportunities, influence decisions and ensure compensation actions are aligned to business priorities
    • Manage projects and process improvements that benefit global rewards and align with our corporate Total Rewards philosophy.
    • Develop and deploy educational/training programs and materials to equip HR partners with fundamental total rewards skills to enhance their effectiveness in consulting with managers and supporting key initiatives.

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications: 

    • BS/Masters degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in Compensation, Business, Finance
    • 2+ years of direct compensation experience required
    • This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

     

    Preferred qualifications

    • Strong analytical and advanced Excel skills
    • Ability to develop recommendations, influence decisions and communicate the story of the compensation data
    • Strong experience managing stakeholder relationships and other partnerships within a global setting

    The Role

    The Compensation Consultant plays the lead role in a wide range of compensation projects for our clients, including conducting pay equity analyses, updating compensation and classification structures, and creating brand new compensation programs on a small yet collaborative team.

    Day to Day

    ·        Act as a trusted advisor on a wide variety of compensation topics ensuring top-notch client service.

    ·        Engage with clients as a project lead—establishing work plans, identifying project considerations, and managing to budget and deliverables.

    ·        Perform as an insightful advisor and subject matter expert for elements of compensation programs, pay equity compliance, and design/updates to compensation and classification structures.

    ·        Deliver findings and recommendations to clients as reports and presentations.

    ·        Analyze and interpret data to provide sound advice.

    ·        Maintain current on compensation trends and regulatory considerations.

    ·        Evaluate jobs to identify quality benchmarks in salary databases and public sector compensation data.

    ·        Evaluate specific aspects of jobs to determine their fit into a classification structure, assign factors for pay equity, and determine job leveling.

    ·        Conduct job analyses and create job descriptions.

    Skills, Experience, and Knowledge

    ·        5+ years’ compensation and/or classification experience required.

    ·        Thorough knowledge of compensation program elements, including base and variable pay, pay structures, pay practices, and compensation philosophy.

    ·        Compensation compliance expertise to include Pay Equity.

    ·        Successfully apply Excel skills, including using complex formulas, regression analysis, data modeling, pivot tables, and macro workbooks.

    ·        Proven ability to establish rapport and credibility with varied audiences.

    ·        Organized and capable of prioritizing own work in a fast-paced setting with frequent and rapid priority and assignment changes.

    ·        Consistently deliver quality, timely, accurate, and useful work products.

    ·        Behave in a manner that supports our core values and represents the company in the best possible light.

    ·        Exemplify professionalism and a sincere concern for contributing to the success of our clients.

    ·        Treat confidential information gained through employment with us with sensitivity and tact.

    ·        Demonstrated expert working knowledge in Microsoft Excel and advanced working knowledge in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, market salary databases, web-based project management, and survey software applications.

    ·        Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Management strongly preferred.

    ·        Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) strongly preferred.

    General Purpose

    Conducts compensation analysis through market research, data gathering and interpretation of employee data. Develops alternatives and recommendations. Presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement proposed solutions. Responsible for all compensation support for a designated client group.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare compensation analysis through research, data gathering, auditing and interpretation.  
    • Provide support in the development of compensation reports, alternative solutions and recommendations.
    • Under general guidance from the compensation lead or manager, assist business partners, managers and client groups in compensation strategy, programs and issues.
    • Create job descriptions, perform job evaluations and conduct market research. 
    • Provide support for client organizational change, compensation compliance and processes.
    • Develop salary recommendations and provide guidance and recommendations regarding promotion requests.
    • Provide support for client group during annual salary planning process (performance appraisal scores and merit and annual incentive recommendations).
    • Administer compensation specific programs, such as employee recognition.
    • Coordinate activities for an outside vendor, such as an on-line market pricing system.
    • Participate in compensation surveys.

    In addition to the above responsibilities, the Sr. level role includes the following:

    • Develop compensation reports, alternative solutions and recommendations in support of compensation and human resource initiatives.
    • Advise and influence business partners, managers and client groups in compensation strategy, programs and issues. 
    • Update, maintain and administer compensation databases.
    • Review and approve salary recommendations and provide guidance and recommendations regarding promotion requests.
    • Manage relationships and processes for an outside vendor, such as an on-line market pricing system. 

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resource Management or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • A minimum of three years related human resources experience, with a minimum of one year in compensation design and administration.
    • Knowledge of data gathering, analysis, forecasting, and modeling techniques and applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
    • Project management skills including project leadership, task identification, scheduling and cost/expenditure identification.
    • Proficient with the use of Excel and Word, to gather, analyze, model and present information and recommendations.
    • Communication and interpersonal skills including ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
    • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team.
    • Ability to present alternatives and recommendations.

    In addition to the above requirements, the Sr. level role includes the following:

    • A minimum of five years related human resources experience, with a minimum of three years in compensation design and administration.

    Preferences

    • CCP, PHR or SPHR Certification.
    • Knowledge of and experience with SAP.
    • Familiarity with Access databases.
    • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
    • Experience in compensation design and administration.
