CWCG sponsors two scholarship options to promote Total Rewards professions in Portland and SW Washington Human Resources community - a Professional Scholarship and Student Scholarship. 

Professional Scholarship

The scholarship opportunities for CWCG professional members now includes registration costs* for Rewards NW in September 2018, four First Thursday events in 2018, registration for 2018 WorldatWork membership or one WorldatWork certification course sponsored through CWCG. Please state which scholarship you are interested in receiving on the application. The reason for your request should be directed specifically at the type of scholarship you have chosen.

*costs do not include travel, meals or other expenses you may incur

CWCG will award one scholarship each calendar year (dependent on funding). 

Application Eligibility and Selection Criteria

CWCG will be accepting applications for the 2018 Professional Scholarship from October 16, 2017 through November 24, 2017.

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a current CWCG member who is actively pursuing certification.  Not a CWCG member?  CLICK HERE TO JOIN NOW.
  • Complete the Scholarship Application and submit according to the instructions by November 24, 2017.
  • Include any supporting documentation, such as a resume or professional work examples.
  • In order to be congruent with the goal of promoting certification in the Portland/SW Washington area, scholarship recipients must take the certification exam associated with their certification course.

The CWCG Board of Directors/Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipients. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Special consideration will be given to applicants whose organizations provide no, or very little, financial support for certification.

Student Scholarship

CWCG is proud to award a scholarship to a currently-enrolled college student with a desire to pursue a career in the Total Rewards field.  The recipient of this scholarship will receive $1,000 for direct college expenses. 

Application Eligibility and Selection Criteria

To be considered, students must:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited university located in Oregon or Southwest Washington;
  • Complete and submit the scholarship application by the established deadline (application window approximately October-November each year); and
  • Submit current transcripts.
  • OPTIONAL:  Provide other supporting documentation for your application, such as: resume, list of organizations affiliated with, and/or examples of applicable academic projects or professional work.
Student applicants will be evaluated based on academic achievements, GPA, and the desire to pursue a career in the Compensation, Benefits and Total Rewards professions.  Students may only submit one application per academic year and are eligible for a lifetime maximum of two scholarships. 

Conditions of the Scholarship

The scholarship funds must be used towards college tuition, books, or conferences related to the field of Human Resources (specifically Compensation, Benefits and Total Rewards).
